2024 GWNN BASH PRESENTERS
ATXGentleDom
ATXGentleDom developed a love for impact and fear play almost as soon as he started exploring BDSM a decade ago. He is known as a heavy sadist, using barbed wire, scalpels and a whole lot of plastic wrap in his play. He is low-protocol Dom, his style of play is light and playful, where laughter is a must. As a former paramedic, you can imagine he’s seen all sorts of crazy things. He brings that experience to the lifestyle by knowing what constitutes a “real” emergency, not getting too worked up about things, and using that knowledge and experience to ensure a safe environment for play and the ability to handle whatever emergencies may arise. He has taught for multple groups in austin, the GWNN BASH, and SPLF

Advanced Caning: Caning for fun and MY pleasure
Sensual caning is one thing, but caning for punishment or for the pleasure of the sadist can be completely different. The objective of this class is to understand how the different types of canes, strokes, and target areas can be combined to build the experience the top wants to create. Aside from the typical ass and thighs, we will explore caning the feet, breasts, and genitals. The class will include a basic and advanced caning demo.
Safety and BDSM: Not another boring lecture
Let’s face it. For anyone who dabbles in BDSM, Safety is important but classes are dry and boring. Let’s change that by talking about what you really need to know. In this class, you will learn key safety items for traditional BDSM play like impact and rope, but also important points about breath, knife, cutting/blood and other types of edgier play. And find out about the one safety item that everyone should have but doesn’t.

Guru Sean
Guru Sean is a self-proclaimed weirdo kinkster with an affinity for sharps, blood and edge play with a humorous twist. One person, after watching him perform, described it like a “sexy episode of jackass” and that sums his scenes up pretty damn well.
He has been actively involved in the body modification and body play community for over two decades and has been bringing those aspects into kink for nearly as long. Outside of kink he is actively involved in the burn (burning man) community, he also volunteers as a harm reduction educator and a Crisis Text Line counselor.
Sean has been privileged to be an educator both nationally and locally and has taught at Ropecraft, GWNN Bash, TX Kink Fest and other cons, as well as for local Austin area groups, such as SAADE and the Austin Mentor’s Program. Guru Sean will be teaching:
There Will Be Blood

We will discuss the risks and negotiations associated with this form of edge play before delving into an open format discussion of WHY this specific kink appeals to us. Then Sean will share his favorite methods of achieving maximum blood spillage with minimal risk. Finally, we will briefly go over the best setup and break-down protocols to minimize the risk for everyone in your play space. There will be a live demo, but no audience participation for this one. Included in this class will be downloadable notes and links to suggested supplies.
Walking The Line: How Safe is Safe Enough?
When I teach classes, be they kink or harm reduction oriented, I do so with the mentality of teaching people how to do extremely dangerous activities in the safest way possible. That being said I get off on walking the line of doing things in a riskier way and the trust that my bottom has in me not to take things too far and I know I am not alone in this.
In this lecture class, we will take a deep dive into informed consent and the level of risks that we can responsibly take on. Some of my bottoms may participate in sharing their experiences and viewpoints as well.
Sew On and Sew Forth: Skin Sewing/ Suturing)
**TRIGGER WARNING:
This isn’t a blood heavy class, but there will be some blood and a lot of sharps. **
This class is an in depth study of integrating “sewing” techniques into your kink!
We’re going to begin with the basics of universal precautions, and how to break the skin of our partners in the safest way possible. Then we get to our quilt-y pleasure! (Think fishing line, rubber bands, ribbons and all sorts more!)
This class will be a live demo of multiple techniques, but, for safety reasons, will not have specific practice time set aside for students. Don’t be spoolish and miss this class or you’ll be sew sad! Included in this class will be downloadable notes and links to suggested supplies.

Jareth McKenzie
I knew I was kinky since the door to Princess Leia’s cell door opened (cell 2187), and she was lying there, “Aren’t you a little short for a storm trooper?” Yep, that is what I want. I was 5 years old.
Now I have studied kink as if I were writing my dissertation. In 2006, after three attempts, I made it inside the building for my first munch. Ever since then I have be in a constant mode of learning more. In 2022, I reached a point where I thought, I can teach classes on this stuff.
Jareth will be teaching:
Negotiation: How to ask for what you want and avoid what you don’t
**TRIGGER WARNING:
possible reference to sexual assault **
So, someone told you, “Yes, I would like to play with you.” Now what?
The Next thing you need to know is what you are going to do, and what are you not going to do. Just because someone is tied up doesn’t mean you get to have your way with them. Just because someone has you tied up, doesn’t mean they are going to have their way with you.
This class is going to teach a step-by-step method for negotiating a scene so that everyone is happy with the result. We will also cover the different things you need to think about, like, “How long are we going to be playing?”, “How do we know when to start the scene?”
Be a good player, regardless of what side of the slash you are on.
Anatomy and Physiology of Kink
One of the most often questions as a beginner is “I have something to smack someone with, but what do I do with it”
This class is going to learn how the stuff that we do affects a human body. We will go over pain responses, impact play, subspace, and look at all the pieces of the body and let learn where it is safe to whack people, and where it isn’t.
Consent: What it is, what it isn’t, how to give it, and how to know for sure you’ve got it.
**TRIGGER WARNING:
possible reference to sexual assault **
The difference between kink and abuse is CONSENT. Some people think, if you are invited into someone’s place “for a night cap,” it means that they have consented to having sex with you.
Well, they haven’t.
If someone tells you they are kinky and like it rough. Is that consent for rough sex? No.
Lots of people think they have consent when they don’t. In this class we are going to go over what consent is and how to make sure that you don’t become a consent violator. Come find out how to make sure you have consent for everything you do.

Piercing doesn’t have to just been metallic and medical. In this class we will discuss the details around using porcupine quills for piercing play. Class will include safety concerns, how to acquire quills, and techniques for play.
Staples, Sutures and Pseudo-Suturing
**TRIGGER WARNING:
Demo will involve piercing of the skin, visible and audible demonstrations of pain, and visible blood.**
Many of us at some point or another have had an accident and needed to have a wound closed via staples or stitches, but have you ever had your mouth stapled shut as a form of speech restriction? In this session we will discuss the use of skin closure technology specifically skin staple and sutures for kink purposes. We will also discuss pseudo-suturing, a form of skin closure that doesn’t employ sutures but is a relative safe and easy way to sew something open or closed or on 🙂

Mara
A long time ago at a Leather bar far far away, a preciously young Mara donned their tightest jeans, tucked up their hair into a leather baseball hat, and jumped on a subway to try to find the kind of men they lusted after found on the well worn pages of their stolen copy of Drummer magazine.
Mara’s journey has been a long and winding road that includes being a boy, a girl, a slave, a daddy, a sadomasochist, an educator, a title holder, a producer, a ritual facilitator and many other stops over the last 35 years in the Leather community.
Today Mara (they/them) identifies as an opportunistically omnivorous queer, gender expansive, Slave (with a capital S). They are the current SouthEast Person of Leather, a proud member of the ATM Leather Collective, a facilitator for Ritual Steel events and was International Ms Olympus Leather 1998.

Mara’s other guiding principles focus on diversity, equity and inclusion efforts to help create spaces for Leather people who don’t fit outdated norms, and smashing through gatekeepers when necessary.
Mara will be serving as a Heartland Person of Leather Judge and will be teaching:
Safety Last! (but at least it makes the list) – Anatomy of a Risk Profile
**TRIGGER WARNING: This class briefly mentions situations of domestic partner violence, devere mental health issues, edge play **
Many people in the community have gravitated to the less judgment based motto RACK (Risk Aware Consensual Kink) or PRIK (Personal Responsibility in Kink) vs SSC (Safe Sane Consensual). So how do you make your fantasies a reality, while being mindful of the risks? This discussion is going to talk about the practical realities of playing with taboo and its inherent risks. We’ll chat about responsibilities, logistics, managing risk, and how to handle things when they go wrong. Warning: this class will touch on taboo scene themes that can be very charged and challenging. We may/will speak about scenes that involve themes of incest, domestic violence, rape, race, and weaponry.
